Three-Phase Workshop Electrical Installation Near Dereham

We completed a full electrical installation for a specialist engineering pattern maker’s small commercial workshop located near Dereham, delivering a tailored solution to meet the demands of a busy and equipment-heavy environment. The project began with the local electricity Distribution Network Operator, UK Power Networks (UKPN), installing a brand-new mains power supply along with an external meter, providing a robust and reliable connection to support the workshop’s operational needs.

Building on this infrastructure, our team designed and installed a comprehensive three-phase electrical system, ensuring the installation could safely and efficiently power a range of industrial machinery. This included the supply and installation of a three-phase distribution board, carefully configured to allow for balanced load distribution and future expansion if required.

We fitted a combination of standard and industrial-grade electrical outlets, including heavy-duty three-phase pin sockets suitable for machinery such as drills, planers, dust extraction systems, welders and other specialist equipment commonly used in pattern-making and fabrication work. In addition, we installed efficient, well-positioned lighting to provide clear visibility across all working areas, supporting both productivity and safety within the workshop.

All work was carried out in accordance with current UK wiring regulations (BS 7671), with a strong emphasis on safety, durability and long-term performance. Upon completion, the installation was fully tested, inspected and certified with an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), giving the client confidence that the system is compliant, safe and ready for day-to-day commercial use.

Challenges

One of the key challenges was designing a balanced and future-proof three-phase system capable of safely supporting high-load industrial machinery while ensuring minimal disruption during coordination with the new mains supply installation.
